What you did and didn’t know about these Barrhaven landmarks
There is so much hidden history in Barrhaven! From the Jockvale School House, to Walter Baker Sports Centre, to Mowat Farm Park, and to the Vimy Memorial Bridge, watch this short tour to learn more!
Straddled between elections right now which have largely taken up the local news cycle, I have slowed down the roll out of Building Barrhaven, but today I’m excited to share the latest promo for the project which I hope to launch following the conclusion of the upcoming federal election.
In this video, I went around some of the most notable places in our community and discussed some history behind each place. From the Jockvale School House that holds a deep history of education in our community, to the Walter Baker Sports Centre, named after one of our most well-known MPs, to the Mowat Farm Park which holds the history of the old farm that used to be behind it, and finally to the Vimy Memorial Bridge, named in thanks to the efforts of the fastest growing, most active, and newest Legion in our country.
Stay tuned for more content and details about Building Barrhaven over the next few weeks and months!
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or would like to talk about the project, feel free to send me an email anytime at vincenzo@vincenzocalla.com.
